Shelby Thevenot (they/them) is a multimedia content creator based in Montreal.
Shelby Thevenot is a professional writer trained in screenwriting, playwriting, journalism, and copywriting. They are the producer, writer, and star of Late-in-Life Lesbian, a new play premiering at the 2024 Montreal FRINGE Festival.
Their work writing about Canadian immigration has been cited in academic studies, journal articles. It has been used as evidence in the Canadian House of Commons for a study on how border restrictions affected Canadian immigrants.
In another stage of their career, they were a photojournalist. Their photos have been published in the Toronto Star, CBC Montreal, iNFOnews.ca, and others.
By night, they do stand-up comedy and spoken-word poetry for various events around Tiohtià:ke (the Kanien'kéha name for the Island of Montreal).
